While working its way to Office 14, Microsoft is also hard at work building the second service pack for the Office 2007 System. Back in October 2008 a member of the Office Service Pack team indicated that Service Pack 2 (SP2) for the 2007 Microsoft Office system is expected to be released in the near future. Although we arent yet announcing the exact release date, it will fall between February and April of 2009. Well, February has come and gone, and so did March. At the start of April the only download of Office 2007 Service Pack 2 comes from torrent trackers, namely the leaked Build 12.0.6416.1000. The bits offered for download were removed from at least one top torrent website and there is no confirmation at this point in time whether Build 12.0.6416.1000 is a legitimate release or not.
The second service pack for the Office 2007 System has slipped past the initial availability deadline announced by the Redmond company. At this point in time Microsoft has offered no information related to the progress done with the service pack. Although the software giant should have already released Office 2007 SP2 to manufacturing, Microsoft is mute on the progress of the development process.
Office 2007 SP2 Build 12.0.6416.1000 is labeled 012.0_B2TR_PRE.0_BTA_EN in the End User License Agreement, pointing out that the release is merely a Beta development milestone. Considering that the Redmond company was laboring to produce Office 2007 SP2 between February and April 2009, the service pack should have evolved further than the Beta stage, to at least Release Candidate or RTM-Escrow. Microsoft did serve a Beta of Office 2007 SP2 in 2008 to a select group of testers, but the testing program was not expanded, and the company offered no details on the development process of the service pack.

Northern Strike can be quite easily summed up as three wonderfully crafted maps that are a bit on the large side for my liking, with a new game mode which certainly has the potential to be great fun on the right map; I don't feel any of the included three are that map though. They do however suit the two new vehicles quite well and that was perhaps the point. I always have and always will prefer infantry combat and that's why Northern Strike doesn't quite push all of my buttons, I'm glad I bought it though and would recommend it to any Battlefield 2142 fan. AirStrike II is, without the slightest doubt, the best 3D shooter I`ve ever come across. There are sufficient weapon upgrades for both players, the six helicopters are very diverse, the enemies are not stupid, the bosses are challenging, and the terramorphing feature makes things look interesting. Of special note is the game soundtrack; is there anything that`s more addicting than that (apart from the game itself)? As I write this, I`m running the game on my other computer with it paused so that I can hear the music. That`s how addicting it is. This is the first time
I`ve ever done something like this. The storyline gives me that gentle reminder that it`s all a game, so I can happily go ahead and blow things to bits without worries. IO Interactive's title is a vaguely named game for a reason. I'm not certain how good that reason ends up being, but thought was put behind it. When I first heard the name, I thought it was going to be a collection of random levels, like a "best of" game. It turns out that's not far from the truth. The story begins with Agent 47 limping into an apartment with a serious body wound and need of a doctor. During this period of pain and suffering, Agent 47 flashes back to missions he once completed, and you get to play them out. Some of them are indeed levels you have played before, or close to them, anyway, including the first level wherein our bald killer escapes from the hospital in which he's just murdered his maker. A little Biblical, perhaps. The level is from Hitman 1 and players must get out of the complex before getting caught. Seems like a well disguised repackaging of goods, no?
The answer is not all that simple. Agent 47's flashbacks, and his pain, grow more and more intense, and each one transforms into a former mission, predominantly ones you've never played before. The story is told in this scattered, hazy fashion with a concrete sense of pacing and logic, but also with a purposely hidden motive, which brings Agent 47 back into the present and progresses into the future. I'll spare you the story, but the story, it turns out, doesn't really play that big a role in this effort. I had figured IO would dig deeper with this Hitman, but that's not the case.
That's the distinct feeling I get from Hitman: Contracts. I figured after two years, Contracts would be this massive improvement in every manner, the way that Hitman 2: Silent Assassin made a distinct leap from the first Hitman. But I was wrong. IO Interactive has remained focused on what it does extremely well, which is to design fantastically elaborate levels, giving players countless ways to beat a level. And the rest is an all about enhancement. The developer has added new weapons (pillows, syringes, shovels, meat hooks, etc.), and new ways to kill, especially with regard to close combat attacks. It's also embalmed the whole game in this dark, disturbingly moody haze, giving gamers a distinct look at the seedier side of life, whether it's messed up biker gangs, genuinely sick meat-packing people, or deranged hunters looking for a more humanistic thrill.
